If you enjoy piecing a quilt but do not enjoy or are not equipped to do the actual quilting, I'm glad you have found me!
After you have poured all of your love and creativity into a quilt top, I specialize in quilting your artwork. I hope to have the opportunity to admire your quilt with you and consider the variety of design options I have available.
My name is Paula and I would love to transform your pieced tops into future heirlooms for your family.
We are located in McGaheysville, VA in the Shenandoah Valley.

Stony Run Quilting will complete your unfinished tops with a Handiquilter Avante quilting system. The machine is hand guided on a frame, where your quilt, batting and backing are placed. Quilting can be done on the back or front side of the frame. In addition to hand guided quilting designs, I now offer computer generated designs. Please see the Designs pages for patterns available.
Not only do I offer edge to edge quilting, but offer custom work and binding services. Let me help you in deciding what is best for your top. In this way we can make your quilt unique and special.
My customers usually decide on a pattern and thread with my help. The customer will also provide the batting and backing which will be 8 inches wider and longer than the top.
You can contact me by phone or email.
Over 24 years ago, I was introduced to quilting by a Mennonite woman, who worked at the Clothesline (now called Patchwork Plus) in Dayton. She showed me the endless possibilities of colors and shapes in quilts and how those quilts come alive with hand quilting. As I learned more about piecing and quilting, the more my passion grew. This passion turned towards machine quilting for quick completion of tops, instead of hand quilting. Since 2004, I have been machine quilting the many quilts I have pieced along with quilting for my friends. I became involved with commission work for a quilt shop here in Virginia as well as New Jersey and Ohio. For a number of years I have been active in several clubs at Rachel’s Quilt Patch and Patchwork Plus. As an original member of the Shenandoah Quilters Guild in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, I was able to meet so many talented quilters. Being with these quilters helps enrich my knowledge of piecing, quilting and appliqué.
This business is another extension of my passion of quilting in all forms. My desire is to turn your pieced tops into quilts for your family by adding that finishing touch.
